In March 2014, the Milan-based Italian software company DFLabs announced the opening of their office for cyber protection and security software in Skopje.
Its potential customers are hospitals, construction companies, banks, government agencies, security services and other police authorities who could use such software for security and forensics purposes.
In March 2014, the company was presented by the Minister for Foreign Investments Jerry Naumoff. Later on, at the opening of the office in September of that year, it was announced that the company would employ 20 people by the end of 2015, and according to the 2016 election program of VMRO-DPMNE this figure would climb to 50 in the next two years.
"Within this project, employess will receive above-average wages, talented young graduates will be recruited and transfer of the latest technology know how will be enabled," said Minister for Foreign Investments Jerry Naumoff at the opening.
According to the Central Registry documents, DFLabs International ended 2015 with 7 employees and noncurrent assets of just under 7,000 EUR. The number of employees climbs up to 9 in 2016.
The company also announced cooperation with the IT faculties in Ohrid and Skopje.
Naumoff did not state the exact amount of the Italian company investment in Macedonia, and there is no official information that this company has received any state aid over the years.
"We have received extraordinary support from members of his cabinet (reffering to Jerry Naumoff). We have continually received assistance and have never felt alone", said the company manager Dario Forte, thus announcing the investment.
