American company, Delphi, or Delphi Electronic Systems, at the end of 2015 decided to invest in Macedonia and signed a contract with the Government.
Delphi was to use the plant and storage facility of Visteon Electronics, which left Bunardzik towards the end of 2016.
The company announced that it will start its operations during 2016, in the Skopje Technological Industrial Development Zone 1 (Bunardzik). In the first phase, Delphi was to invest 15 million euros and open 500 jobs.
At the end of 2015, a year for which there was official data available, the company did not have any non-current assets, which is understandable given the fact that the company preparing to invest. By the end of 2016, however, the company had hired 163 workers.
Delphi is one of the fifteen largest companies in the world in production of electronic car components.
