The Director of the Agency for Foreign Investments and Export Promotion, Visar Fida, presented in December 2013 Mensan, a Turkish automotive industry company, and said that the company decided to invest five million EUR in TIDZ Skopje (Bunardzik) and employ 100 persons.

Later, in the promotion of this project in the Accountability Report and VMRO-DPMNE’s commercials, it was stated that the investment would double at 10 million euros, and that it would begin implementation that very same year, 2014.

However, the next Accountability Report of the governing party from 2016 does not mention the name of the company Mensan anywhere.

According to the Registry of foreign investment in the Central Registry, Mensan was recorded in September 2014, which is when five natural persons from Turkey deposited a total of 5,000 euros, which are the assets of the Macedonian company Mensan today.

Additionally, according to its Annual Financial Statement, Mensan does not have any employees in Macedonia. In November 2015 the government adopted a decision to terminate the long-term state land lease agreement between TIDZ and the company.

The Agency for Foreign Investments informed BIRN that due to certain difficulties in Mensan the mother company has slowed the implementation of the project, but that there is still no official information that the investment is being cancelled.

The company Mensan Automotive produces original parts for commercial vehicles and is located in the western part of Turkey.
