Vitek Macedonia opened its factory for the production of hydraulic equipment, located in the Technological Industrial Development Zone Skopje 1, at the end of October 2012. As announced, the initial investment was estimated at 5 million euros and 50 employees were to be hired.
Vitek Macedonia is an investment of Italian company Teknohose. The main activity of the company is in the sector of mechanical engineering, more specifically in producing hydraulic couplings and rubber products.
A year later, in October 2013, Italian investors laid the cornerstone to build a second factory in Bunardzik. According to the announcements of the Prime Minister at the time, Nikola Gruevski, the investment was worth approximately 11 million euros and it was to create 150 new jobs.
It was when the second factory had began its production, in January 2016, that Vitek Macedonia CEO, Antonio Vitillo, announced the company’s third investment for the following year, bringing the total amount of investments to about 30 million euros, and over 300 people employed.
"This amount is six times the one that was announced initially; it goes to show that the Vitillo acknowledges the favorable opportunities offered by Macedonia. These figures confirm our decision to invest in Macedonia, the country we believed in and where we have gained friends who have helped us feel like home," explained Vitillo.
As of the end of 2015, the number of employees at the factory was 52, while in 2016 it increased to 82.
According to articles published in the Official Gazette, No. 138 of 2014, and No. 127 of 2013, the Government decided to grant state aid to Vitek Macedonia, however, the amount of this assistance is not specified.
In 2015, the company achieved an income of 5.58 million euros, which was 84.3% more than in 2014, while their profit amounted to 185 thousand euros, an increase of 9.2% on an annual basis.
Vitek Macedonia is owned by the Italian company Vitillo AD registered in Ariana Arpino, in Italy, more specifically by Antonio Vitillo, who is also the manager of the Macedonian company. The founding capital of Vitek Macedonia, according to data from the Register of direct investments, amounted to approximately 20 thousand euros.
The total assets of the company amounted to 12.5 million euros, out of which 9 million euros were non-current assets.
